Spent holy week with the family at the Imperial Palace. The place was awesome, so I didn't want to bring around my huge camera with the risk of getting it wet. I figured that this was my chance to take a break from even more editing, plus I was able to spend quality time with my parents and siblings.

Rizza and I also got invited to play at the original Mooon Cafe at Guadalupe. Traveled all the way back to Cebu to perform. We sang about 25 songs, and it was quite a challenge! We usually play about 3-6 songs here in Manila, so we were so shocked when they told us that the whole night was for us! So happy of the great turnout. Monique de los Santos also dropped by and we got to hear some of her originals. Riz and I love performing and we hope we get to do this more often!

The only thing that sorta troubled me during my stay was the effect that hard water left on my skin. I now understand why I developed a case of skin asthma during my teenage years... Cebu has hard/limestone water and it can make your skin really dry. Apparently I wasn't used to that anymore, so my skin asthma/eczema started coming back. Good thing I brought along some medication which helped soothe the itching. Chlorine from the pool made my face super red and dry as well. What's worse is that I tried getting a facial from Belo Medical Group in Ayala Terraces the day before heading to the resort, so that made my skin extra sensitive. I'm sorry but I've decided that I'm never getting a facial from them again. Aside from my skin taking a whole week to recuperate from the red spots (they said the redness would subside overnight!), I didn't see a significant improvement on its texture. I think it's best if I just rely on the peels/light facials that I get from my dermatologist everytime I visit her (once every 2-3 months). My skin was fine to begin with, I really don't know why my mom decided to book me for a facial at Belo. I guess she just wanted to try it- she was late so her appointment was scrapped. After my experience, she said she isn't planning on giving it a try.

Maybe their full facial works for other people. I'm not trying to say that they suck. I guess full facials/extractions aren't for me... My experience at their clinic was actually excellent. It's just really the after-effects of the facial that made it bad (my skin is super sensitive). I'm looking into the other skin care services they have...

I spent the rest of the week catching up with tons of friends. Also made it a habit to hit the gym with the beau. My friend Steven and I went to a studio and recorded 4 tracks (just me on vocals and him on the piano= jazzy tunes!). I left the CD and I had it mailed to me 2 days ago. Will be posting the mp3s soon!

So far, my break has been very memorable, and it's just starting. Feeling so blessed again with my family and friends.

Last March 27, I made sure to bring only light clothes since I knew that it was gonna be super hot and humid in Cebu. My suitcase was filled with skirts, cutoff shorts, swimsuits and breezy tops. So sorry to say that yes, I fail in fashion during summer... As much as I'd love to dress up on my break, it's getting too hot to layer and bother too much about what to wear. Plus I haven't had time to shop in weeks cos of school. I missed shopping so much but I found that my wallet benefited from it greatly.

The day after arriving in Cebu, I was told that there was gonna be a homecoming party for PJC. I thought it was gonna be an intimate occasion, but I was wrong... What a bad time to dress down and not wear makeup! LOL.But seriously though, the weather was so bad and found myself sweating inside the malls. The news predicted that pretty soon the temperature's gonna rise up to 40deg. celsius! That's like the room temperature at Bikram Yoga (hot yoga) sessions!

The party was so fun, with lots and lots of Cebuanos! A great way to start my last summer break :)

A lot of people assume that Interior Design is just "some art course". Soooo wrong. Those plates (coined term for our homework/outputs) are the easiest ones we have to do... But it's not even as easy as it looks. You'd have to spend at least 5 hours on each one of them. And now the standard size for each of the plates we have to submit is 20"x30". You really can't take up Interior Design if your heart isn't really into it. It's not easy and it's hella stressful. Think architecture with color- technical but very artsy fartsy. Why else would there be a licensure examination if it was just all about drawing and coloring whatever? We also have to read and memorize a lot of things. We have a couple of business subjects, too, since we're gonna be hired for our skill/talent, products and services (we have to be well-equipped with entrepreneurial skills so as not to be easily duped). Our professor even warned us during the first day of our basic term that we were gonna be involved in the 3rd most stressful profession. SCARED. But at the same time, excited! :))

So I spent my the last 3 days of school finishing all my final rendering plates. Was awake for 48 hours straight and finally decided I need to rest for about an hour on the 3rd night before finishing up on the remaining plates. I sorta have a feeling that I have to get used to this. This was my last "basic" term and I have 3 months off (WOOHOOOO!) before I start with my "advanced" subjects. According to the older students, it's gonna be LIKE FINALS WEEK EACH WEEK. Oh. My. Goodness... I vow to enjoy my 3 months of freedom cos it's my last summer ever til I graduate on October 2011. Plus I think I'm gonna be stuck in school til 2012 cos of board reviews + examinations.

So yeah, just wanted to post some of our rendering plates since I've never posted anything school-related in a long time, plus most people don't realize that I'm taking up BS-Interior Design.
