The DAS sisters got me to shoot their entire collection since they're launching their new official webpage soon... We decided to take a couple of fun portraits right after. Issa dropped by as well, and we were all chatting away during the shoot. It's always so much fun when these girls are around!
I tweeted the night before that I needed someone to help me with the lighting. This was the first time I had to set up lights by myself and I had no other choice but to resort to.... YouTube tutorials. Thankfully I just had to do the most basic set-up and I could remember a couple of things from previous shoots with other photographers. I guess it was really time for me to do it on my own.
Internet, I love you.

I was able to see my cousins who flew in from Malaysia for the holidays + got together with my aunts and uncles for some afternoon wine and tapas before heading to church at 2ND's to lead worship with Riz. We sang a couple of Christmas songs and this was paired with free servings of hot cocoa and ensaymada for everyone. Totally feeling the Christmas spirit now but mum and I haven't even shopped for gifts yet... Also did our last gig for the year at the 2 Serendra Christmas party which was hosted by CIE's (my HS alma mater) president before heading to Heat at Shangri-la for some more wine with the fam. I stared at my brother and cousins devour some Japanese food and dessert from the tastiest-looking buffet--I can't believe I've never been to that restaurant before!
Looking forward to Christmas in Hong Kong and spending New Year's Eve with the Cabrera clan complete!

normy days
FACE:
MAC Studio Finish SPF 35 concealer (under the eyes/around the nose)
Clean & Clear's oil blotting sheets (I use 3-5 the entire day to keep the oilies away)

I just wanted to post a self-portrait after getting treatments from Skin 911 during my most recent visit to Cebu. My friend Jennifer owns the clinic and she was kind enough to let me try some of their services for free. My mom also got a couple of treatments and so far we love it!!! They're at a temporary location in Banilad but will be moving to a place near SM Cebu early next year. They have non-invasive slimming treatments as well as skin pampering treatments at very affordable rates!
❧
I don't think I've updated my makeup routine too much. I use products I trust, and believe me when I say that the more expensive powders (blush, pressed powder, bronzer) and concealer last me a long time! My Chanel powder lasted me 7 months plus my blush & bronzer's pans aren't even showing yet. I bought all of them at the same time (last trip to Singapore)
My favorite mascaras would be Dior's Diorshow mascara or Chanel's Inimitabe Mascara but I just can't afford to splurge on things that dry out so quickly.
Urban Decay's 24/7 glide-on pencil in Zero is my holy grail liner and it's proven to be the one that stays put the longest as compared to all the other brands I've tried. It goes on creamy but stays put the whole day. It's too bad none of the stores in Manila carry Urban Decay makeup... I have to get my stash from Singapore or America.
(For those who are curious about my skin type and acne medication, see the bottom of this post for more info + my dermatologist's contact details.)

Christmas wishlist

(6) iPhone 4s
(10) Ray-ban Brad

...Next year I look forward to more trips & more time under the sun.
...my travel gadgets need new friends.
...And the dog lamp will probably complete my new pad (any lamps & frames will do).

the CANDY Style Guide
Candy was kind enough to send me a copy of this month's issue plus their first STYLE GUIDE.
It's great to be recognized by Candy, especially because it's the first magazine I subscribed to when I was just a teenager. I can't believe just this year they've invited us to perform at the BFF Camp and now I'm gracing the pages of their publication.
Please grab a copy! I am under the category "edgy" with Laureen.

Unleash your true fashionista with the Candy Style Guide
Candy makes dressing up a lot more fun with the Candy
Style Guide! Featuring hot looks from your favorite Hollywood
celebrities and local fashion bloggers, the Candy Style Guide helps you
discover your true personal style that matches your unique personality.
Associate fashion
editor Sam Potenciano says of finding your own style, “This book isn’t
about forcing you into a pigeonhole or telling you that you have to be one
singularly defined thing. It’s about helping you find the tools to grow into
the style you love and develop into the fashion superstar that you’re meant to
become.”
Take the style quiz
to find out if your style is classic, edgy, girly, boho, indie, or glam. Then,
be inspired to dress up like fashion icons Lauren Conrad, Jessie J,
Lily Collins, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, and Alexa
Chung who embody the same style.
Have fun experimenting
on different looks to find the one that best suits you. Take a cue from fashion
bloggers Camille Co, Laureen Uy, Tricia Gosingtian, Danika
Navarro, Kryz Uy, Reese
Lansangan, and more as they share their fashion tastes and give Candy
girls advice on being confident and owning your personal style.
The Candy Style Guide also features a checklist of
must-have fashion pieces for all six individual styles to help you build your
fashion arsenal!

Manila Maki
sisig rice
❧
Issa and Ria are obsessed with this restaurant. Riz and I went with them right after Bloggers United but I decided not to eat since it was late and I wasn't hungry. The owner of the place, Alain, gave us some red rice sake so I decided to give those a try. Sake goooood.
I'm going back to this place soon. It's just at my best friend's condo (Elizabeth Place) at 332 HV dela Costa Street, Salcedo Village Makati. The place isn't that big but the interiors are really nice! I'll write a post about their bestsellers.
❧
update: Issa and I had lunch here last Monday!
I'm not so good with critiquing every single dish, but I loved everything! The menu's basically a fusion of Japanese and Filipino favorites.
Ensalata Kani. Yumm. I loved the salted eggs in it.
Eggplant chips. Really addicting.
Okay, this isn't really part of it... It's Issa's cute hairclip from Bangkok!
