I was saving my appetite the entire day and had this nicoise salad topped with spanish mackarel + another salad for Noche Buena. Because of all the parties that preceded, I didn't want to go overboard during Christmas eve! We had an early dinner and nothing else followed at midnight aside from the opening of gifts. Saving my appetite for New Years- we'll be celebrating with cousins by then. 

I've been wanting these for a long time and I finally got them for Christmas- the AIAIAI TMA-1 DJ Headphone with mic. They're the PERFECT matte black headphones! Couldn't find pretty ones here without those tacky logos popping out so my mum ordered from the website and had her best friend ship it from America. Thank you, mum and dad! They're my first pair and I love them.

Just glad that the fam was complete for the holidays! More than thankful for all the blessings He has given me this year and I'm already looking forward to 2013. Hope you all got what you wished for! holiday specials from 2nd's

I was invited to sample some of the Christmas specials from 2nd's last night and asked Lissa & Camille to try them with me... 2nd's is known for really great comfort food & an upscale dining experience so I was excited to see what they were adding to the menu. Really interesting flavors going on and sure enough, each dish really reminded me of Christmas!  

CHICKEN RELLENO ROULADE 

Chicken leg stuffed with sausage and roasted chestnuts. Served with potato & pumpkin dauphinoise, french beans, and peppercorn whiskey jus.

-Loved the potato & pumpkin dauphinoise! Cams said this was her favorite, too. 

CHRISTMAS HAM & QUEZO DE BOLA CROQUETAS

Served with truffled aioli

-Even if I had to take out the ham, this was still really tasty. 

CINNAMON & PINEAPPLE GLAZED PORK BELLY “HAM” 

Served with warm red sauerkraut and rosemary browned butter potatoes

GINGERBREAD COOKIE & EGGNOG ICE CREAM SANDWICH

-LOVED IT

PUTO BUMBONG GNOCCHI

Served with desiccated coconut pinipig, gata butterscotch, and coco sugar.

-I really liked that they made a Filipino favorite more interesting.

12.15.10 (part1)

Visited high street and saw that the Christmas walkway by our church was almost finished.

The signs weren't up yet, but was already looking really good that I had to take photos! It's still at Bonifacio High Street (the space near Fully Booked) so you guys should check it out. (Creative Director was Luis Daniel Tabuena and the Art Director was Lilliana Manahan)

Then I picked up Riz from school. Went to the Outerspace Gallery at the Collective for our gig...

The beautiful Miles Magcase invited us to perform during this exhibit. She was also the one who photographed me with Issa and Danica (2009) at Punta Fuego for a pirate-themed shoot. I still remember that super hot day. Sweatiest shoot I've ever done (umm, beach setting in the summer heat wearing boots and knee-high socks?) but I loved the photos. She made a picture book out of some of them...
