PHILIPPINE INDEPENDENCE DAY HALF MARATHON

If I ask you what you’re doing on the 12th of June I’m pretty sure that most of you are going to answer at least one of the following: bum around, hit the beach, get some fresh air in the mountains, cool down in the malls.

But is this really how we want to spend our Independence Day?

We talk about how much we love our country and yet on the one day that we’re supposed to celebrate our country, we don’t. Instead, we use the holiday to recuperate from stress.

If we want to celebrate Independence Day like how the Americans or Singaporeans (just to name a few), we must start somewhere. So what better way to celebrate this special day than to run and celebrate it with your fellow countrymen?

For the first time ever.. we’re having a Philippine Independence Day Half-Marathon.*

RIZ AND I WILL ALSO BE PERFORMING IN THIS EVENT.

There will be a program and food stalls around the area which should make it a WHOLE LOTTA FUN!!! The CIE Alumni are starting a trend to make our Independence Day a very special day of celebration for all Filipinos. During our last meeting, already 4000+ runners have signed up for the marathon… CASH PRIZES AND MEDALS will be awarded to the winners, and they get to hand over a FULLY-FURNISHED HOUSE to a family in need.

Participate in this event (run, be a spectator or just party along!) and help our fellow countrymen learn to value independence, as well as help set a trend for ending poverty!

Run 1,2,3

Set them free

From poverty

For love of country ! ! !

INIIBIG KO ANG PILIPINAS

GAGAWIN KO ANG LAHAT

UPANG SIYA’Y MAIANGAT

SA PAGKAKASADLAK ! ! !

Sorry had to ask, the other links about the run won't load :(

What time and where will it be held? Wanna go! Even just as a spectator, I'm kinda not in shape right now. :))

Oh, and do I need to pay? :O

Please & thank you :)

Hi Raleene,

PIDM sucked bigtime, me and my co-runners were very frustrated how disorganized the race was. I've just been in to running for 4 months now, but i've never been to a such disorganized race. I joined the 21Km run but the route was not even a 21Km and U-turns were not even arked clearly. The idea of a single gun start with all the race categories really sucks... it was chaos!!!

I really loved the idea of having to celebrate our Independence Day with this kind of special event, but I hope the organizers get help from race experts on how to run a race.

Ad I know I share the same sentiments of most of the runners who ran this morning!!!

Hey Harold!

Wasn't there to witness the start of the race cos our previous gig ended at 2:30AM. So sorry to hear about your experience. Will definitely forward your concerns to our President... I hope the next one will be a better one since everyone agreed that this was a really great idea to celebrate Independence Day. It's just sad that the half-marathon wasn't as good as we expected it to be, but I guess it was unavoidable since it was their first time to organize such a massive event with a huge turnout...
