Somebody That I Used To Know (a cover by the WTs)

Somebody That I Used to Know (cover) by the Walkie Talkies

I'm not really liking the audio on our recent videos. Riz and I used her iPhone to record so the flaws were supposed to be covered up by adding some echo. Riz doesn't have her mic at the moment soooo we had to settle for this. Hope you guys like it nonetheless.

Ray-Ban recently launched their summer collection, La Boca (link leads to my post about it on Tumblr). I was running really late so I quickly grabbed the only colorful thing in my closet that I haven't worn out yet (going through a sea of black clothes is torturous). The program was over when I got there but I had enough time to talk to the team & some friends over drinks. Headed to Privé with the guys right after for Models' Night! Whyyy are my girl friends always missing on great nights like this?!

Sadly, I didn't get to take too many photos last night. You know you've had a great night when it all ends with some Chinese food... So bad but so goooood!

You can check out the 2012 Tatt Awards Facebook page for more photos from the event :)

& many thanks to Niche for taking these photos!

WHO rocks your online world?

Tattoo, the #1 broadband in the Philippines continues this year with its trailblazing recognition of social media celebrities and influencers with the prestigious Tatt Awards, the first-ever awards platform for online personalities who have inspired, led, influenced and sparked changes in the world in a positive way.

The first-ever Tatt awards held last year gathered and shone the limelight on technophiles, video vamps and passionate advocates of change:

Young celebrity stylist Laureen Uy  bagged last year’s Stylisimo Award for her fresh take on fashion, her very successful online store, Stylebreak and her religiously followed fashion blog, Break My Style.;   `Professional heckler’  Loi Reyes Landicho received the Word Slayer award; TV host-columnist Bianca Gonzales was voted by her followers as the #1 Thoughtmover; Mikey Bustos for the Video Slinger award; Up Dharma Down, for Indie Rocker; Marc Macanas for Tech Junkie and the Philippines’ pride, Lea Salonga, for the Ball Breaker award.

“This year’s Tatt awards will honor a new batch of digital rockers,” explains Dong Ronquillo, head of the Tattoo Nomadic Broadband Business. “What sets Tatt awards from other web-centric awards is that we look beyond mere statistics and acknowledge individuals who have expressed an opinion, created inspiring works or ignited social change. This is not a mere popularity contest but a recognition of people who used the social media space to share what they are most passionate about and, in the process, created positive influence and stirred action among people,” he adds.

Tatt Awards 2012 also proudly reveals its new Tatt Council, a group of celebrated online thought-leaders led by Ronquillo, that will collectively serve as judges to determine the winners in the different categories.

The Council members include award-winning journalist and ABS-CBN News & Public Affairs social media pioneer Maria Ressa; Filipino singer, comedian, and YouTube sensation Mikey Bustos; TV Personality-columnist and style guru Tim Yap; former music director for the rock station NU107.5 FM and musician Francis Brew; Multi-awarded humor blogger and one of Tatt Awards 2011 winners, The Professional Heckler, Loi Landicho; one of the most sought-after corporate, fashion and advertising photographers in the Philippines, Wig Tysmans; TV Host, Editor, Columnist, Endorser and Actor Raymond Gutierrez; model, host, magazine editor and sports enthusiast Rovilson Fernandez; Commissioner to the National Youth Commission and Outstanding student leader Gio Tingson; and Internet and Mobile Marketing Association of the Philippines (IMMAP) Vice President Pao Peña.

“The Tatt Awards is our venue for recognizing digital rockers who, through passion and individuality, have created a space that is uniquely theirs, but sincerely shared with others.”

Support your favorite online rock stars who rocked the social media stage as Tattoo opens the curtain once again to give them their well-deserved Tatt awards.

Stay glued to www.tattawards.com for the official start of nominations.

Live without limits.  Rock on with Tattoo!

feelings fleeting

Trying my best to maintain a chill mood this summer but everyone seems to be extra irritable thanks to the weather (and some maybe because of dieting). I just hoarded a couple of extra small men's tees a while ago since I'm about to join the army of hotheads & lose myself with temperatures reaching 37°C (98.6°F). Construction is such a pain in the ass with these conditions and I'm going to try my best to at least come up with something interesting to wear on the remaining days of summer. Cutting up the necklines into V-necks and maybe finding some more colorful bottoms.

On a lighter note, I can't explain why I've been having sudden bursts of elation these past couple of weeks. Suddenly wondering if it's normal for me to feel apathetic about most things one minute and then extremely thankful and free the next (at least that's better than dejection and getting feelings of hopelessness). One thing's for sure though- you can never entrust your happiness on another person. I don't know how many times I have to stress that to people, but girls like me can be stupid at times. Thankfully we're good at nagging ; we just need to keep reminding each other about things we're supposed to already know.

Mango Tree & Geisha are both relatively new. They're located at the same area where Jamba Juice is in High Street.

All I can say is that the food isn't that affordable & portions are small BUT you get what you pay for in both establishments - the food, service & presentation's great; the interiors and ambience-- just perfect. My dad's been saying that I seem to be attracted only to restaurants with nice interiors. I guess that's something that comes naturally if you were trained to critique interiors & nitpick over small details for so long (but hey, if the eats are bland, trust that I won't be writing about them).

Mandaue Foam ( + blog giveaway)

A few weeks ago I was invited by Mandaue Foam to take a tour around their Quezon Avenue branch. I'm glad I was chosen as one of the bloggers to write about them since I haven't done anything related to interior design or interior decor in a while. I also needed tons of things for my new flat, and aside from the decor they said mentioned that anyone could send in their designs for them to upholster/manufacture!

I've always known about Mandaue Foam because I would always see the big branches in Cebu on my way to school. It was built in 1971 by Mrs. Rosita T. Uy as a foam manufacturer in Mandaue City (Cebu). Since then, they've grown to be a big manufacturer of foam, furniture, furnishings & decor. Their showrooms are full of those plus small home items that makes it a one-stop shop for new homeowners!

MF was also kind enough to sponsor a giveaway for my readers! More about that at the end of this post...

Lighting's got to be one of my favorite aspects in interior design. This piece caught my eye since it was the perfect simplistic/modern touch to add above my small dining table. I was in search of something more industrial like those exposed bulbs (this one's even better because it uses LEDs)

They have a lot of these modern chairs
