the Social Network

Watch the trailer here.

Heard about this movie a year ago and I really couldn't wait to see it after watching the trailer...

It's about how Mark Zuckerberg was able to start his own social networking site from his college dorm in Harvard. Being an antisocial computer programming genius that he was, the site quickly earned thousands of hits during its first few days. As of today, it's as if almost everyone can't live without a Facebook account. Mark became the youngest billionaire and earned 500 million friends. But with success, it's impossible not to lose a few friends along the way...

Saw him appear on Oprah last weekend and I was so surprised that he was able to maintain a simple lifestyle. He didn't live inside a mansion, and he's married to a girl who he met before he built Facebook. I really wanna know his entire story now!

I'm looking for people to watch this movie with me this coming Saturday (October 2) at 1PM... It'll be at the Columbia Pictures private theater on the 5th floor of Shangri-la Plaza mall. It's free and all you have to do is blog about getting to watch it early so more people will be willing to see it when it premieres on October 27 here in the Philippines!

yup.

Finally did it.
I've always wanted to chop off my locks since I never had fun with them anyways. Plus I think I'm never gonna get used to the heat in the Philippines! Mum was the one who was so nervous... She even kept my hair! LOL. I just really wanted it short. Issa and I made a deal to get a shocking haircut during her birthday (September) this year... We both did it a few weeks after her birthday, but we both didn't know that we were going to scrap out our original plans and just get a pixie cut! Her plan was to have undercuts on each side of her head but leave the top short, while mine was to shave just one side of my head and leave the other really long (think Alice Dellal).

Wasn't able to check my computer for a couple of days last week, but my friend mentioned that Issa's hair was really short already... Posted a photo of my haircut a few days after sporting it (and it's really better not to post a photo first- the reactions I get from friends- PRICELESS!)and found that the only difference between my cut and Issa's haircut was that she left her bangs flowy, while I chose to style the top a little with some wax! Great minds think alike, eh? :)

We're both liking the short hair... We've had long locks since forever! People here at home all wanna get haircuts now... but nobody wants to cut theirs as short as mine! LOL... I think you should just go for it if you really want to try it out. Quite happy that even my schoolmates think it looks better than my long hair (which I never even combed or styled on a daily basis, oops)... And that I look younger... Well I think I still look old whenever I wear makeup and wear heels. I can't really change much about my manly/strong features. Boo. And oooh, mum keeps saying that it makes me look like a real musician now. Totally LOLd at that comment!!!

And oh, it looks sorta gray-ish on the photo but I'm telling you, it's still my natural hair color. Don't be fooled. AND that video really doesn't do any justice to it... We filmed at around 1 in the morning after our gig at FEU plus a whole day of walking, so excuse its messy state! I love short hairrrr... I'm hoping this'll motivate me to not gain any weight and continue to keep fit. Super low-maintenance, I can mess it up, let people touch it and it would still look fine. Why didn't I do this earlier? More girls should feel this sort of freedom just like guys!!! Was able to reflect on how much money girls have to spend on treatments and hair products... Wow... Never realized all the unnecessary things salons fool us into doing... (not that I hate them, it's nice to get pampered once in a while!)

**Got my first haicut at Emphasis, Rockwell and then convinced mum to allow me to cut it even more right after at Bench Fix, Serendra.

There's really nothing much to say. My life has been uneventful and routinely. School-church-band practice-gym-home. I just have to get through this week and a new term begins in school. I guess stress makes me a boring person? LOL. I don't hate it that much, though. I feel blessed, but at the same time I just really feel like I miss tons of people... And other things. I constantly wish for a lot of things to happen, but that doesn't stop me from thanking Him for everything that I have and all the things that have been happening to me lately.

I'm having one of those days, and I'm trying my best to keep my chin up. As of now, I'm able to BREATHE again. Thank goodness.

This has got to be the most unorganized/random thing I've ever posted. Might edit this later... or not. Forgive me if I'm not making much sense, I'm only human. :)

Edric invited a couple of us for a fun Lookbook photoshoot last week. A couple of people weren't able to come and it would've been more fun with them- but I must admit, I had so much fun even if only a few of us got our photos taken... I have the least number of fans as compared to everyone else in the bunch, but I guess it's safe to say that I'm fine with that since I RARELY (almost never) post new stuff (hehe). It's amazing how people still manage to hype or subscribe to me... So I'm thankful.

The people in the shoot were familiar faces. I've worked with Edric before (as a co-photographer and posing in front of his lens), as well as the makeup artists. I've also produced a couple of photos for Camille and Kryz for their stores/clothing lines. I know Tricia from the online world and got to meet her years back, crossing paths during shoots and events. As for Ira, it was my first time to meet him, but I knew we had a few (or even more) common friends. He was really nice and of course, dressed really well...

These Lookbook "personalities" are amazing, they excel and are known in their fields (I'm the only one who's still in school), and their Lookbook fame's just a plus. Like me, they endure sleepless nights and their schedule's just unbelievably tight (but I think I still have the worst case of insomnia, hehe). They manage to look amazing and confident in front of the camera even if they each had to squeeze in the shoot to their schedules that day (I was the only one who was "free" if you don't count one small meeting), and that says a lot about them. (This topic deserves another blog entry)

I guess it's safe to say that in the field of art, you sorta have to express yourself with the way you dress in order to be remembered or to create an impact. Now that's not the same as buying expensive clothes or conforming to the newest trends. It's really just a matter of creating your own unique identity and being able to carry yourself well in whatever you wear. It takes time to really know yourself, but it's gotta be one of the most important things you can do in your lifetime. Yes, a lot of people struggle with this (I know I used to & still am, slightly). But I can say that getting to know yourself more helps with being happy. You realize what kind of life you want to experience. We all want some kind of freedom, and at the same time a sense of direction in life.

Read Kryz's post about the shoot HERE (she has BTS photos, too!)

She took these with her new Lumix and asked me for help on how to use it. They look great, Kryz! :)
