Mum brought home this cake made out of traditional tsokolate from Cebu. It's the Filipino version of a mud pie and it tasted just right- not too sweet.

Woke up to this! Received the certificate to my patent for my modular chair/furniture series made by rotational molding. At last!!!

my dad is the sweetest!!! And we share the same birthday!

After arriving from our batch teambuilding at Laguna, Nini and I rushed to 2nd's at High Street to attend Church Simplified. I also had a table reserved for a small dinner with the family after church. My mum and brother were supposedly arriving in time for dinner, but their flight got delayed for 2 hours so we had no choice but to start without them (sadness).

The food at 2nd's did not disappoint and the kids loved their burgers and mac'n'cheese. The atmosphere is always nice and I love that we get to spend our Sundays with our CS mates there, too. Apparently they're not officially open yet- they're just slowly spreading the word through friends and tweets so there's no huge sign outside the place. There's a small one but it can't be spotted if you're just a passerby- the sign says 2nd's and it's where the old Mag:Net used to be... Oh and btw, it's called 2nd's just cos the owners all have day jobs, and their 2nd one's being restaurateurs. Oh and that "back for 2nd's" line applies to this place, too.

My birthday was great!!! And nothing can ever beat the feeling of getting the leadership award PLUS my first-ever patent on the same weekend. A very positive start for me! I'm looking forward to that official acceptance letter to the Filipino Inventors Society. The geek in me always seems to find ways to kick my artsy side's behind. Which is never a problem, I think. But these two should be partners.

Couldn't have done it without the help of my dad. Without him, 2 years [of working on the patent] would've been 4 or more, and the Php 2,500 fee of trying to apply for the patent would've cost me Php 80,000. It's probably an advantage that our company always goes through this process whenever a new product is made. Hooray for royalties indeed!

GAHH the next invention is on its way!
