Olga's been my online friend since High School but I never got the chance to meet her in Cebu. Just this year I met her at one of the clubs in Manila and finally said hello after recognizing each other. Agreed to have a photo shoot with her since she had to update her modeling portfolio and I wanted to do something fun during a quick trip to Cebu. Didn't plan the shoot properly so we ended up doing it in my house after lunching and luckily I had a few clothes sent over from NY at that time.

It's weird how I meet Cebuanos in Manila instead of getting acquainted with them in Cebu...

Saturday afternoon photo shoot

Was rushing the whole night & day to finish my project (after not sleeping at all for 2 nights straight), went home for lunch then to Cubao X for this shoot. Had to take photos for another client as well (shoes). Fun, fun, fun! Learned some tricks with the external flash.
Met up with a couple of friends at Rockwell & Greenbelt after this, only to find out that the tickets for Transformers 2 were sold out. My other friend even had to reserve hers 1 week ahead! Crazy.
Still have a couple of plates to repeat and pass tomorrow. Getting my coursecards, gonna hand them over the Student Grants Unit & Office of Culture and Arts then I'm FREE!
Still have loads to study up on [photography]. Plannin on taking some classes during my break. I have soooo muchhh to learrnnnnnn.Because anyone with a camera can be considered a photographer. Anyone who's a whiz at Photoshop, too. More techniques, lighting and the business side of photography-- I'm willing to learn!

Whenever my mum comes she always complains about the traffic during rush hour.I'm used to it. Perfect time to catch up on some Z's at the back of the van.

Q&A (about my "Steppin into the Dark Side" photos)

There were a couple of people who asked & e-mailed me about my makeup for the "Steppin into the Dark Side" shoot, as well as the post-processing I did for it.

PHOTOS & POST-PROCESSING

Issa used my Nikon D80 with a Nikkor VR 18-200mm lens plus an SB 900 external flash.
(No other lighting equipment! Just positioned the flash well and made the light bounce off her white walls)

The B&W post-processing was pretty simple. I was just playing around with Adobe Photoshop CS3 and noticed that the makeup looked waaay better in B&W.

• 1st layer: Black and white

• 2nd layer: Duplicate the B&W layer and INVERT the colors (Ctrl + I )

• Erase some parts (used a soft brush) of the 2nd layer to reveal the 1st or original layer (obviously I revealed my face to show the makeup)

That's all! Pretty simple, eh?

Used a MAC palette Izabelli had. The label behind it faded already and she can't remember the name of the collection it was from. It had 6 different eyeshadows (silver, brown, black, cream, forgot the two. LOL) and the compact was gold.

MAC Mineralize SatinFinish SPF15 Foundation
(Other people hate MAC Foundations cos they're too thick and can get really ugly after sweating cos of our weather in the Philippines, but the SatinFinish is a lighter version and provides just the right amount of coverage. It's not the lightest foundation I've tried but it's pretty good for special events. I don't usually wear foundation cos of the weather. Gonna try out a tinted moisturizer soon to see if it's better than foundation. I still think your skin should be seen & be able to breathe on normal days.)
