One fun Saturday! Viewed Robin Tomas' collection at SMX (thanks, Cholo!) and headed to Cafe Breton for some grub. Chillaxed at Issa's place then walked to Red's for his little get-together. Ended up at Bureau. Will post the rest of the pics from the show soon.

Congratulations, Ciege!

Last year, Issa and I got the chance to assist Ciege on his first show for Phil Fashion Week. Never realized how craaaaaazy it gets backstage til that day. 
Ciege also designed the costumes for a play I was in during my freshman year in college. We won best play and best costume design along with 7 other awards. 
Awesome collection again, Ciege!

Really wanted to buy these babies online 3 months ago but decided to wait for them to reach the local branches. They came in one season late, but I think twas worth the wait. They look killer in person and even better under halogen/yellow lights.
My weapon of choice, most definitely. 
*note for mum:Now you see the contents of that blue bag I was hiding from everyone. Sorry! Fell in love with them, they were talking to me, really! (shoes: "Buy meeee, buy meee! Be my mommy!)
Thanks to those who took time to e-mail me to tell me that my dumpsite blog's inspiring! I'm always happy to answer all of your questions, especially about Manila. I do try to balance out everything I post, won't deny that our country's still developing. But I assure you, it has its beautiful secrets as well.

So last Tuesday I got a message that classes were canceled- right before doing my homework/Freehand 2 plate for that day. The good student in me promised to get myself to do it after a quick nap. Promised to do my homework for the next day right after as well. 

After that nap I went on to watch my usual torrented flicks-- There Will Be Blood, A Small Affair plus I started with my House Season 4 DVDs. Finished halfway and even fell asleep in between 2 episodes because I was in the most bummy state. It was like Sunday, on a weekday.

What's wrong with me???

We actually have to take photos of 30 different buildings around Manila and associate their structural components to the different periods in Architectural history. 
The weather  almost killed us, but thankfully we didn't have to commute. Not quite done with our list! Fifteen periods, two structures for each. 
Obviously the main reason why our professor's assigning this project to his HAA students every term is so that we're able to discover our own city. A lot of us have been in this city/country since forever but haven't really taken time to look into those buildings-- they just seem to disappear amidst the surroundings whenever pass by them on our way to school. If you look closely, the architecture's almost always impressive and you can sense the influence that a lot of nations have passed on to us during their their occupation/colonization. 
A big mash-up of things around the city but I think that's what we have to appreciate. I just wished we had the money to maintain these places. Not really fond of the idea of the whole place becoming a modern, concrete jungle in the future. It's nice to see something else whenever you go back home.
